In the health sector and in health practice, West Africa faces major challenges in terms of information, health education and strengthening health systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to FOASPS, several other players in the healthcare sector are working to improve access to healthcare services. Unfortunately, a major communication gap has created a lack of visibility for these players and the initiatives they are undertaking. Indeed, public commitment to initiatives is hampered by a lack of information, and opportunities for collaboration between private and public players are limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was in response to this situation that the FOASPS Permanent Secretariat developed a vision for the project.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project aims to create a media group, a set of digital media including web television, web radio, a web magazine and a book publishing platform, specifically dedicated to promoting the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to promote healthcare initiatives (both private and public), the media group has been named \"Afric 100 T\". The name refers to Africa without taboos, both in terms of health and the private sector; the acronym is designed to easily evoke Africa and health.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to a rigorous call for proposals and selection process, technical experts have been recruited to operationalize the production and broadcast tests of Afric 100 T Web-Television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test operation was successfully completed on the occasion of the 23rd\u00e8me<\/sup> International Pharmaceutical Forum, held in Lom\u00e9, Togo, from July 03 to 06, 2023. This test phase confirmed the relevance of the health web-television tool. At the end of the 3-day Forum, the web-television, broadcasting on a YouTube channel, registered over 2,000 subscribers across West Africa, who showed great interest in the thematic programs produced with the presence of eminent specialists present on the Congress site. This also confirmed one of the web-television content production strategies, which will consist of setting up or being invited to scientific events to benefit from the presence of a large number of resource persons located on the event site.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the dynamics of the fifth edition of the African Medical Tourism Congress (AMTC 5), held in Abidjan, C\u00f4te d'Ivoire, from November 27 to 29, 2024, the opening ceremony saw the official launch of the web-television component of the \"Afric 100 T Media Group\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch and first three days of production of Afric 100 T Web-television have been rich in successes. This means, of course, that more pronounced challenges lie ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOASPS has already begun discussions with its partner ARC (Africa Resources Centre), which is interested in working on this project as a grant and commissioning partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will eventually be deployed in the 11 member countries of the FOASPS: Benin, Burkina Faso, C\u00f4te d'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo, with a logistical base in one of these countries depending on the results of feasibility studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When fully operational, it will serve a wide range of target audiences, including :<\/p>\n\n\n\n
